You have a very smooth voice, dude… I was hoping for a little help with the strumming but still was a good lesson, thanks

    • Denisstrato:

He forgot to say the end of the verse with D/F/C and return on the F to finish.
The intro sounds better with this fingering : XX0560 and D (XX0232)
      The rest is clear
      Thanks Raskali

Good lesson< I do wish the camera would have stayed on your left hand though< would be much easier to follow.

    • LAPoloPlayer:

The lesson is very good, but excellent camera work.

Outstanding ! You teach clearly and with good material, delivery and format. I love it and learned it. Thank you, honorable teacher !

    • absoluteabsence000:

Um, that opening chord is totally wrong…the first chord is played at the fifth fret… the chord is shaped like this: G string at the fifth fret & the B string at the sixth. You pull off on the G string as you strum the chord.

can you please elaborate on the “tapping-on-the-body” aspect of playing Neil Young?

good quality lesson. very nice. thanks a bunch.

@Raskali You’re in tune albiet by ear. I guess i it’s just easier for me to use a piano or a tuner as opposed to tuning by ear to whatever the teacher is tuned to.

This guy is so gay! Just the way he made this video

    • LUKE82603:

I always start at D and slide down to D position 5th fret, lifting my index finger continuosly on the E string. After “I’m alot like you are”, back to the D, everything sles I do exact. I learned it this way from a video he did way back in his 20′s. I actually tuned down half step also. Neil would use this tunning alot, but not sure if he used it in OLD MAN. I play it onmy 12 string so I keep that tunning. Anyway, love your version and picked up a few things you. GREAT jOB !@

    • Phaedrum1:

The first (and most beautiful) chord is incorrect. The correct one (a Neil Young hallmark) is played like an open Dsus2 (open E string) on the fifth fret.

    • Phaedrum1:

Also, Young plays a Fmaj7–not an F–after the D in the verses.

    • Phaedrum1:

Finally, the chorus includes a G maj right after the Em7 (which is played as a 3-finger chord: an Em with the 7th added via the 2nd string at the 3rd fret).
